Kilimanjaro 03:23
You were born into the show Dressed and pushed which way to go Take that situation slow Placed inside the twisted crowd Told to speak but not too loud Asked for proof when well-endowed You will feel the shock You will feel the shock (yeah) You will feel the shock When we break the lock Feel me slipping as I slide Through the choices I've denied Feel my kick as we collide You will feel the shock You will feel the shock (yeah) You will feel the shock When we break the lock Break. Meet me at the top of Kilimanjaro Where I love my world and she loves me back Can I meet you at the top of Kilimanjaro Where I love my world and she loves me back Kilimanjo Come on we gotta go One more word before I split Back into my awful fit I'll see you there You're part of it See me dripping as I run Into the sun You are the one That's gonna break it down You will feel the shock You will feel the shock (yeah) You will feel the shock Meet me at the top of Kilimanjaro.

Trees stand like giants With their gnarly limbs in proclamation And the rivers flow like blood And I feel the earth-heart beat beneath me And the cypresses they burn Like blackened flames along the hillside And Mother Earth does groan And I stand here like a true believer Forever, life, the Burning Fever Sun is looking down Like a giant eye that burns my surface The moonlight flickers by And I understand the true impression So I take you in my arms And spin you round, imagination And Mother Earth does groan And I know that I cannot deceive her Forever, life, the Burning Fever Sometimes I find That it feels good Like I knew it wood So please tell me something I already know And I'll take you I already go Yeah, it's the greatest show Burn Forever, life, the Burning Fever You betcha That's right Making a million Overnight You betcha Better hold on tight You betcha

Dirty 02:22
Dirty My hands have gotten dirty And I need to find a place for cleaning Abandon the people that I've been leaning on Dirty What kind of dirty place have I been living in? With what kind of dirty people do I deal? Dirty Where there's dirt, there's dirt But I don't want to feel dirty Where there's dirt, there's hurt And I don't want to feel Dirty My clothes have gotten dirty And I need to find a set worth wearing Abandon this uniform that people have been tearing at Dirty Where there's dirt, there's dirt But I don't want to feel dirty

Turnstyle 02:34
Someday Talking 'bout a pain that looked a lot like love Coming at me through some tricky eyes Frankly speaking, I thought I had a lot to gain But lost it all to the sweet disguise Now I am my one and only But I know she's not so lonely Someday you're gonna hear the chime Of the clock It's tick-tock So give me My body still moves on through its given time But my heart's waiting there by the turnstyle She looked a lot like love She looked a lot like love Now this is my degragation Con-tin-ing-you education Someday you're gonna see that I'm More than just a score on your borderline My body still moves on through its given time But my heart's waiting there by the turnstyle My heart's waiting by the turnstyle But you're turning your back The turnstyle But you still don't come back, no The turnstyle Though your style is wack You left me standing there by the Turnstyle I know you're going to blame it all on my prevention Holding me down in detention Missing all your good intention Oh now hide inside the tension We create on this ascension Oh I pray someday you turn and finally learn your f*cking lesson I hope you learn your lesson someday

You can't see me I don't know you What you read and what you're watching Paint a picture Hang it higher Breed confusion Fuel the fire Can the difference be so drastic And can the lines be seen from the sky? Can a residential difference be all that it is If I saw you Would I know you? Could I touch you? Would you understand me? Why's it so hard to walk through a line that doesn't even exist? Can the difference be so drastic And can the lines be seen from the sky? Can a residential difference be all that it is How's the weather? Grey is our sky I can hear you Breathing Listening to me If I asked you Could you tell me? Can I free you? Or am I in need of being freed? Can the difference be so drastic And can the lines be seen from the sky? Can a residential difference be all that it is I don't know you You don't understand me

Smarty Pants 03:04
I'm in love with the smartest girl, yeah I'm in love with the smartest girl The smartest girl in the world Turns my head in every way Place my ear up to her head Feel the fact of crimson and armour Place her hand upon my head Freezing words created to charm her I'm in love with the smartest girl, yeah See her mind undress and play Waking from her perfect night Freed me from my walls and my fences When I left, I was the right On in through my new future tenses I'm in love with the smartest girl, yeah I'm in love with the smartest girl The smartest girl in the world I know that I'm the smartest girl in the world.

Serious Pilgrim is...
a band that makes you feel like you do right after you brush your teeth.

The original 1989 demo cassette by New York City's Serious Pilgrim has at long last been remastered and released into the digital realm... and Bandcamp is the perfect repository for this music.

These tracks really have never been heard with as much fidelity as you're about to hear. They were never released on anything more than do-it-yourself cassettes with a front cover printed out from a photocopier (so even the cover artwork is sharper). Oftentimes, new fans were hearing these songs on the copy of a copy of a copy of a cassette, with the resultant increase of hiss and decrease of fidelity clouding the sound... but not the passion. Now, for the first time ever, it can be heard as it sounded in the recording studio on the night it was mixed. Even the members of the band haven't heard it like this since 1989.

Many people consider Serious Pilgrim to have been a bit ahead of their time... now you can hear their first output as it deserves to be heard.
