I feel it all the time And sometimes Not at all Here in my creeping silence I can hear it call It calls me Just as I start to move it trips me and I fall That is all Here in my speech tonight My back's against the wall Sometimes I feel quite huge In fact I am quite small It calls me 'Cause I wanna feel I wanna touch I try so hard to crawl But through it all You're making it easy Here I go to conquer the world That is all You're making it easy Here I go I go I go Please tell me I wanna know I wanna know I wanna know what keeps me laughing I wanna wake Start with a shake Re-enter my mirthquake Yes I'm swinging from the rafters 'Cause we're Happily ever. Please be there tonight I need you there tonight Yes I walk with you, and talk with you I'm your dimestore messiah yes you know that it's true That is all You're making it easy Here I go to conquer the world That is all You're making it easy Here I go I go I go Please tell me I wanna know I wanna know I wanna know what keeps me laughing I wanna wake Start with a shake Re-enter my mirthquake yeah I wanna flow I'm gonna grow So now look out below Yes I'm swinging from the rafters 'Cause we're Happily ever after Yes I'm dying from my laughter 'Cause we're Happily ever Through my endeavor Yes we're happily ever After Please don't be square tonight 'Cause I'm in love with you.

Check your conscience at the door You won't be needing it here They sent reporters But their stories won't be aired tonight It won't be difficult No dividends or lies exchanged You'll find it rather simple My Harley is a rad machine And you've got one heck of a head on your shoulders Haphazard means make for haphazard dreams I've seen it happen Now the lions and vultures are coming around to her door The Mystery fell And the Locksmiths couldn't crack it Now it's buried in the sand I don't find the beach too keen anymore But you've got one heck of a head on your shoulders Come to think of it Haphazard means make for haphazard dreams For all its worth you can leave your questions on the floor And bundle up your inhibitions We'll lock up and never see them anymore Your eyes in mine And look at them silly humans What do they know? There's a beeline we can take But we'll learn a little more scenic route And you've got one heck of a head on your shoulders Come to think of it all

I don't want to be your maker I don't want to feel your pain You're such a pretty undertaker Please look away so I remain I said I'll find you You're running far away You're such a simple kind of crazy You're the fool to make the call 'Cause I'm a guy who's kind of crazy I didn't want this thing at all I said I'll find you You're running far away Marrying the metal sculpture Comes to mind like a horticulture Marrying the metal sculpture Comes to mind like a horticulture I leave you I'm tired of your lame suggestions I'm tired of this empty dream My thoughts are not for your inspection My thoughts are pure, my thoughts are clean I'm a troubled individual, you know what I mean I'm gonna find you When you are far away I said I'll find you You're running far away Marrying the metal sculpture Comes to mind like a horticulture Marrying the metal sculpture Comes to mind like a horticulture dig it Marrying the metal sculpture Comes to mind like a horticulture When you're marrying that metal sculpture Comes to mind like a whore to culture I leave you What are you saying as I'm swaying in a heavenly bliss Hacking heavy at the cross I kiss I can dig it and take and talk it and fake it and make it the best Animated, I can break the test I'm jerking Dig it I never said it I can break it down to the dirt So quick, you won't feel the shirt Slidin' glidin' from the neck of the bishop to the record I sleeve Smell the chemical when I leave I'm the bread, the wine, the joker, the pilgrim, the promise divine The only color in your dead skyline You are hopin' and prayin' that I will be stayin' No time to believe You're mechanical when I leave Now you're livin' and dyin' in the blinkin' of the cannibal eye Tear it open as it starts to fry Purple egg of pain wrapped in yellow veins You will annihilate the fantasy by breakin' your brains and cryin' Marrying the metal sculpture Comes to mind like a horticulture Marrying the metal sculpture I leave you Only you.

Rubber Man 02:55
It's a perfect world And I'm perfectly content When perfect time is spent in my element Be it a walk in the park (do it!) I lose my bearings But you don't need a book to be taught (you knew it!) I'm a rubber man In a rubber land Take my rubber hand Oh, give me vision I'm a box of reason It's you that I'm playing for You I'm pleasin' It's a perfect world I feel fine Though I know I'm blind But ain't it great to feel fine All that I can see belongs to me Besides, it's free Come as you mean to stay Dance in my rubber light Laugh in my rubber film And we'll cut like a rubber knife Oh, feel the vision I'm lost indecision I tunnelvision through the floor 'Cause I'm sure that you'll score In a perfect world Come sit next to me We'll see it all It's all on me All that I saw was a box of reason I spilled it across the floor I'm a rubber man.

There's a cottage with a stable And a horse named Marisa Who is walking to the market every Sunday at the dawn And there's an old gal in the bakeshop Who pretends not to notice As the children sneak her pastries and then lick their fingers clean I want to make you a permanent part Of the pictures in my memory and the places in my heart I want to make you a permanent part Of the dreams all coming true today There's an old train on a grey track He was the King of Locomotion Now he dreams of roaring motion As the wind echoes his fame And there's a good book and a steeple And a preacher named O'Reilly Who is looking rather smiley as he opens up the gates And there's a tavern full of locals that would boast six generations Giving family occupations a place to lift their cheer And there's a small girl in a dark room That is shaking from a nightmare And her father, now, who sits there and will hold away her fear I want to make you a permanent part Of the pictures in my memory and the places in my heart I want to make you a permanent part Of the dreams all coming true today With you With you With me Make you a permanent part Of the pictures in my memory and the places in my heart I want to make you a permanent part Of the dreams all coming true today With you With you With me If I pray for you, would you pray for me

Lifeday 02:28
Dreamers dream of days gone away Baby thinks of things it will say Boys will play the songs they wrote While the ferryman drives the ferryboat Girls will make the days seem sweet As flowers drop treasure at their feet The Chevy's at the levy and the levy isn't dry This is Lifeday Don't cry Things that wash ashore are real And sand is the only thing your feet feel Holes won't exist, the hole's been fixed Stops my mind from wandering Lovers love the one they're with A poor man revels in his gift A cloud tastes silver on its lips And I... I just wish Give it up Give it all Give it now Give it to me now Papers write of things gone great Mother plants her roses straight For ice cream children never wait Most of all, no one hates Lifeday is a day I dream A day I make when it all seems that the days we live are cold and mean Most of all, it's just a dream Dream, dream, on this day dream On the eighth day Given by a poet's scheme On a big wish granted all my thoughts lean But most of all, we all can dream On Lifeday.

I go down to the ocean To hear the velvet sound of sea Entrapped by water in motion A vision starts to come to me I walk out into the water (this is my destiny) To call upon an ancient friend We speak and laugh without order I hope this friendship never ends He says, "My friend, I am dying." He says, "Man, I'm already dead." He says, "I'm the victim of a tiny little system little system that I never even touched before." I said, "Just come here and rest your head." So for now I am kissing the porpoise And my bottle-nosed buddy wants to kiss me back Yes, I am kissing the porpoise He's black-and-blue 'cause his blue has turned black Blood is thicker than water, it's true So when you spill your blood out in the blue Dig it coming straight back To you I'd like to take the president of a popular chemical company Strap on some heavy boots and drop him in that bay So the sea creatures could come up to him and say My gills, they feel your spills My eyes, they see your lies My fins, they know your sins My home is dissed. Liquidate. Yes, I am kissing the porpoise And my bottle-nosed buddy wants to kiss me back Yes, I am kissing the porpoise He's black-and-blue 'cause his blue has turned black.

SECRET BONUS TRACK WITH PURCHASE!

Serious Pilgrim:
Peter Bavaro - bass, vocals
Tom McGivney - drums, vocals
Martin Rivas - guitar, vocals
Mick Wieland - guitar, vocals

New York City's Serious Pilgrim released a total of three demo cassettes between Autumn 1989 and Autumn 1991... this second cassette, "Ibid," was released in the Autumn of 1990.

The tracks on Ibid have never been heard with as much fidelity as you're about to hear. Much like Serious Pilgrim's eponymous 1989 cassette, Ibid was never released on anything more than do-it-yourself cassettes with a front cover printed out from a photocopier (so even the cover artwork is sharper). Oftentimes, new fans were hearing these songs on the copy of a copy of a copy of a cassette, with the resultant increase of hiss and decrease of fidelity clouding the sound... but not the passion. Now, for the first time ever, these tracks can be heard as they sounded on the speakers at Laughing Dog studios, or down in Tom's Basement, over the sleepless summer of 1990.

Many people consider Serious Pilgrim to have been a bit ahead of their time... now you can hear their second output as it deserves to be heard.
